Essay...funny games

We watched a two minute sequence of the film Funny Games, a remake of an Austrian film by Michael Haneke. The remake has kept to the original story, in the scene we are looking at the two main characters who are un- named (but are referred to as famous childrens t.v characters through out the film) are in the front room of the house. They have the woman held hostage in her own home, and are torturing her. They ask her how she would like to die, one option was "with the painless big gun", but before they could carry on she shoots the main guys friend and he dies.
The scene then starts to get interesting as the main guy says something like "that shouldn't of happened." He picks up a t.v control and presses one of the buttons. At first it's not clear what he's doing, but then the scene starts to rewind it's self.

Im going to look at the way editing has been used to create different effects.
